Meet Stephanie Colon, DDS

General, Cosmetic, and Implant Dentist

Dr. Janice DionisioDr. Stephanie Colon was born in Pisa, Italy, and raised near Annapolis, Maryland, alongside her older brother. Her family is originally from Puerto Rico, and she grew up speaking Spanish fluently. From a young age, she was active in gymnastics and soccer, and unlike most of her friends and family, she genuinely enjoyed going to the dentist. It was during college, while shadowing in a dental office, that she discovered her passion for dentistry.

Dr. Colon earned her undergraduate degree in General Biology from the University of Maryland in College Park and went on to graduate summa cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. She finished at the top of her class, receiving multiple awards for clinical excellence. To further strengthen her training, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency through NYU Langone at a nonprofit clinical site in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Colon’s commitment to helping others inspired her career in dentistry. Her experience serving patients in underserved communities has deepened her passion for using dentistry to positively impact lives. She finds it incredibly rewarding to witness how a new smile can boost a patient’s confidence and overall well-being. She emphasizes pain-free, efficient care and holds herself to the highest standards in clinical treatment.

Her clinical interests include endodontic therapy, crown and bridge work, bone grafting, implant placement, cosmetic dentistry, and esthetic gum contouring. She is expanding her expertise in TMD treatment, sleep and airway dentistry, and clear aligner orthodontics. Dr. Colon is committed to staying abreast of the latest treatments in dentistry and providing a wide array of services for her patients. Regardless of the procedure, her priority is always the patient-ensuring they feel comfortable, informed, and cared for. She believes trust and personal connection are the foundation of successful dental treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Colon is a fervent sports fan. Her favorite team is the Baltimore Ravens, and she is hoping to see them win a Superbowl soon! She loves reading and going to the beach during her free time. She also loves to travel and try new restaurants, but her favorite meal is pasta. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her dog Cannoli. She is recently engaged and is excited to be planning a wedding soon in Puerto Rico with her fiancée!
